Great read! the image tripped me up because it looks like Garyyyy V-AI. haha but I agree I have found more strength in writing my articles that ARE LONG AF (but my audience reads them) and then taking that and producing content that has gotten 100K+ Views. Consistency is key here. Authenticity is even stronger.
He has a team of people doing it for him. He’s lost touch with reality claiming “just stick with it” while he moves his followers from one platform to another and pretending he’s starting from 0. He’s not and hasn’t in a long time. Now he’s on Substack “writing” but it’s his ghostwriter. Starting at 0 for him is not the same as us little people. I’m sick of listening to people like Gary who have all the answers to problems he doesn’t have and hasn’t had and now makes serious money pretending to help people be successful when he’s only hoarding platforms and making money off of them.
This really resonated, but maybe because I accidentally arrived here from the opposite direction.
I spent years trying to optimise everything. Marketing, funnels, positioning, growth, all the things you’re “supposed” to do, but i eventually realised I was becoming less of myself.
So I stopped trying to create content and started following breadcrumbs instead. Whatever I’m genuinely curious about that day gets my attention. AI. Marriage. Human behaviour. Why it’s winter in Australia while Europe is in summer if it’s the same sun. 😂 Whatever chaotic & organic rabbit hole life throws at me.
Ironically, that’s when the growth started happening here on substack.
I don’t think people are craving more content anymore. I actually think they’re craving evidence that there’s an actual human on the other side of the screen, living an actual life. The writing is just the trail of breadcrumbs back to that person.
That part, I think, is what’s becoming more valuable every year.
Exactly. And the cool thing about this crazy digital world we're all living in is we can follow curiosities without having to track or trace the patterns. The algo will do that for us. Just be real, and let the rest work for you!

Content is more valuable today than 17 years ago - you must write for AI as much as the person reading the post. I do not have a team like Gary to put out 432 pieces a day but I am creating a solid routine that has me on page 1 of google and growing.

Tips are the one thing that actually became a commodity, ChatGPT will out-tip any of us at 3am without complaining. Nobody's paying for information anymore, and honestly they're not even paying for the person. They're paying for a point of view they couldn't have reached on their own. The angle, not the info. The writers who win here aren't the ones handing out advice, they're the ones whose read of a thing survives you pasting the same topic into a bot and getting oatmeal back.

I simply cannot imagine making so many accounts that I post 400+ posts per day. That sounds … awful, really.
